Amateur Radio Licensing

The next regular exam session is scheduled for May 21. The exams will be given in the Professor Jackson class room at the American Red Cross; testing will begin after the WARS regular meeting. To see a map and get directions to the test site click here. Visit the Links page for practice tests.

What you will need:

            The examination fee (now $14.00) in check or correct change.

            A photo identification card plus one other kind of identification.

               Applicants will need to know their social security number.

            Some sharp pencils, eraser, and a black pen. It is recommended 

               to have a back-up.

            Calculators may be used; however, the examiners will erase 

               the memory before the exam begins.

            If you are upgrading you will need to bring the original, plus 

               one photocopy of your current license and/or your CSCEs.

            Persons applying for their first license must provide their Social

               Security Number or an FCC Registration Number (FRN).  If you

               do not have an FRN and are uncomfortable providing your Social

               Security Number, please visit the link below to obtain an FRN

               before the test session.  If pre-registering, please do not forget

               to bring the FRN to the test session.
