Radio in the Park, Archer City Edition
Apr 17, 2015 - Jake, KD5JHW
The WARS, Inc. sponsored Archer City, Texas "Radio in the Park" is set for 23 May 2015 in Burkett Park and will be from 0800-1600 hrs. This is a practice session for our 27-28 June ARRL Field Day as well as an opportunity for the general public to see the really neat stuff we do with Ham Radio. We really need a good turn-out to achieve these goals. As always, this event is open to all hams. If you or your local group won't be "going field day" this year, plan on joining in on the fun with us in May as well as June. Anyone with an interest in radio, computers, NASA (the International Space Station) or practically any other aspect of physics or science will find something of interest at this public event. For information you can send email to field.day@n5wf.org, follow my APRS.fi icon KF5THB where I'll post updates, find updates on the Facebook group Wichita Falls Area Hams (Amateur Radio Operators) and last but most fun, stop by our WARS Monday Nite Informal net at 147.140 pl tone 192.8 for all the latest and more. You can "listen in" even if you are not a licensed ham operator.
